At Arden Grove Pre-School, children are at the heart of everything we do. We provide a caring, welcoming environment where children aged 2 years until they start school can learn, explore, play and grow.
We believe children learn best when they are happy, secure and interested in what they are doing. Our approach gives children the freedom to follow their interests, make choices and develop their confidence and independence at their own pace.

Through play, children explore, investigate, experiment and make sense of the world around them. We provide a wide range of experiences and resources that encourage children to be curious, creative and active learners.
Our activities and experiences reflect the children’s developing interests, ideas and individual needs, helping make learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Every child is unique, with their own interests, strengths and personality. We take time to get to know each child and understand what makes them curious and excited to learn.
Children are encouraged to make choices, share their ideas and follow their interests. Our experienced team observe, listen and provide support, encouragement and new opportunities to extend children’s learning.

Learning Through Continuous Provision
Our environment is thoughtfully organised so children can easily access a wide range of resources and activities.
Our approach to continuous provision gives children the opportunity to revisit their ideas, develop their play and explore their interests over time.
Children can choose what they would like to explore and develop their own ideas, while adults support and extend their learning through thoughtful interactions and experiences.
Learning Indoors and Outdoors
We believe children benefit from having the freedom to learn and play both indoors and outdoors.
Our bright, airy classroom and large outdoor play area provide a variety of opportunities for children to explore, be active, get creative and learn through play.
Children have free-flow access to our outdoor area throughout the session, giving them the freedom to choose where they would like to play and learn.
Outdoor play provides wonderful opportunities to develop physical skills, explore nature, use imagination, investigate and enjoy being active.
Building Confidence and Independence
We encourage children to become increasingly independent by giving them opportunities to make choices, try new things and take an active part in their learning.
Children are supported to have a go, solve problems, make decisions and discover what they can achieve for themselves.
We celebrate children’s achievements and encourage their natural curiosity, helping them develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.

Strong, positive relationships are at the heart of life at Arden Grove Pre-School.
We create a warm and supportive environment where children feel safe, secure, valued and cared for. We encourage children to build friendships, communicate with others and develop kindness, respect and cooperation.
We also value our relationships with families. By working together and sharing information, we can build a strong understanding of each child and support their individual development.

Preparing for School
As children approach their next step, we support them in developing the confidence, independence, communication and social skills they will need for school.
Being based within Arden Grove Infant and Nursery School also gives our children opportunities to become familiar with the school environment and socialise with children in the nursery and reception classes.
We want children to feel confident in their abilities and excited about moving on to their next stage of learning.
