About Our Pre-School

Arden Grove Pre-School is an independent, voluntary-sector pre-school and registered charity, managed by a dedicated committee of volunteers.

Although we are based within Arden Grove Infant and Nursery School and enjoy a close relationship with the school, Arden Grove Pre-School is a separate organisation. We are not run or funded by the school and have our own admissions arrangements.

Attending Arden Grove Pre-School does not guarantee a place at Arden Grove Infant and Nursery School. Families wishing to apply for a school place should follow the school’s admissions process.

Arden Grove Infant and Nursery School and the Wensum Trust are our landlords, and the pre-school pays rent for the use of our indoor and outdoor spaces.

Our Committee

Our Pre-School Committee plays an important role in supporting and managing Arden Grove Pre-School.

Made up of volunteers with an interest in the pre-school, including parents and carers, the committee works closely with our team to help ensure the pre-school continues to provide a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for our children.

The committee is responsible for areas including:

  • Supporting the overall management of the pre-school
  • Overseeing finances
  • Supporting recruitment and professional development
  • Helping to ensure the pre-school is run effectively
  • Organising and supporting fundraising activities

The committee operates in accordance with our Constitution, which sets out the aims of the pre-school, the responsibilities and powers of the committee, its membership and how meetings are held.

The committee consists of a minimum of 7 members and a maximum of 12 and is elected each year at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Our Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place during the autumn term and is an important part of how our pre-school is run.

Parents and carers are encouraged to attend and help elect the committee for the year ahead. Existing committee members step down at the AGM but may stand for re-election, in line with the requirements of our Constitution.

As a voluntary-sector pre-school and registered charity, having an active committee is essential to our continued operation. Without enough volunteers to form a committee, the pre-school would be unable to continue operating in its current form.

How Can You Help?

There are lots of ways parents, carers and supporters can get involved with Arden Grove Pre-School.

You could:

  • Join our committee and help shape the future of the pre-school
  • Become a committee officer and take on a specific role
  • Attend our AGM and support the election of the committee
  • Help with fundraising to raise money for new resources, equipment and activities

Getting involved is a great way to support the pre-school, meet other families and make a positive difference to the experiences we can provide for our children.
